We’re building the charging network Sri Lanka can depend on — network by network.
FlashGrid is the consumer face of the Flash Grid charging network: one app, one rupee wallet, and roaming across every network on the island. We started in Jaffna so that owning an EV makes sense anywhere — not just in the capital.
The story so far.
How a rupee wallet and an open protocol became a roaming network — starting at the edge of the grid.
The premise. Charging shouldn’t stop at Colombo. Most of Sri Lanka’s chargers sit in the capital. We set out to build a single network a driver in Jaffna, Kandy or Trinco can lean on — pull in, plug in, pay in rupees, drive on.
The architecture. One system network, many sub-networks. Flash Grid runs the system network; partners register their own sub-networks under it. Drivers see them all as one map, with cross-network roaming built in. Partner-network sessions carry a transparent 5% premium — shown up front, never buried.
The wallet. One LKR wallet, no per-network signup. Top up once in rupees and charge on any network island-wide. Live power, energy and battery percent while you charge — and a receipt the moment you unplug.
The launch · Jaffna. 3 stations. 360 kW. The edge of the grid. We started at M2FH+XM5, Jaffna 40000 — on purpose. If charging works at the edge of the grid, it works everywhere. Three stations and 360 kW of capacity to prove the point.
What we believe.
Four commitments that shape every decision — from how we price a session to how we ship the platform.
Transparent before it’s anything else.
Every price, every premium, every receipt is shown up front. The 5% partner premium is a number you see, not a surprise on the statement.
Open protocols, no lock-in.
The hardware speaks OCPP 1.6J and 2.0.1. We don’t marry a single charger vendor, and neither do the partners building on us.
Compliant from day one.
PUCSL pricing, metering and reporting are designed in from the start — not bolted on after the regulator asks.
Built here, for here.
A small team of engineers and operators in Sri Lanka, building the charging layer the island’s EV transition actually needs.
How it’s built.
FlashGrid runs on the Flash Grid CSMS — infrastructure-grade by design, so partners can build on it without rebuilding it.
Multi-network engine
The same platform powers the driver app, the partner portal and the admin tools — one ledger, one settlement, every session accounted for.
OCPP 1.6J + 2.0.1
A dual-stack, open-protocol charging management system targeting OCA OCPP certification (OCTT) on both versions.
PUCSL compliant
Pricing, metering and reporting meet Sri Lanka’s Public Utilities Commission requirements out of the box.
LKR wallet + roaming
A rupee wallet with cross-network roaming and durable receipts, settled across the system and partner sub-networks.
