Terms & conditions.

The agreement between you and Flash Grid (Pvt) Ltd when you top up your LKR wallet and charge on the FlashGrid network — including how card payments, service delivery, and refunds work.

Effective: 6 August 2026

1. Who we are

FlashGrid is an EV-charging network operated by Flash Grid (Pvt) Ltd, a company incorporated in Sri Lanka (“FlashGrid”, “we”, “us”). Flash Grid (Pvt) Ltd is the contracting entity and the merchant of record for all payments taken through this site and the FlashGrid app.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By creating a FlashGrid account, topping up your wallet, or starting a charging session, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter into a contract in Sri Lanka.

These terms cover the FlashGrid app, this website, and every charge point on the FlashGrid network and its partner sub-networks.

3. Account and wallet

Your FlashGrid account gives you access to one LKR wallet across the entire network. Top up your wallet inside the app; the balance is solely for charging sessions. There is no per-network sign-up — one account works everywhere FlashGrid operates.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Wallet balance is a prepaid credit for charging. It is not a deposit, earns no interest, and is not a payment instrument for use outside FlashGrid.

4. Services, pricing and currency

You pay for energy delivered, priced in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) per kWh at the published rate. All prices on this site and in the app are in LKR and include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We do not bill in foreign currency.

Sessions on a partner sub-network carry a flat 5% roaming premium. That premium is always shown to you before you start the session. There are no hidden fees, no subscription, and no per-session card fee.

An itemised LKR receipt showing kWh delivered, session duration, station and cost is issued in the app for every session.

5. Payments and card processing

Wallet top-ups are processed by WebXPay, our licensed payment service provider in Sri Lanka. Accepted methods are Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards, plus the other options listed at checkout in the app.

Card details are entered on WebXPay’s secure, PCI-DSS-compliant payment page and are authenticated with 3-D Secure where your bank supports it. FlashGrid never receives, handles, or stores your full card number, expiry date, or CVV. We store only the card brand, the last four digits, and the WebXPay transaction reference, so that you can recognise a payment and we can return a refund to the right card — see the privacy policy.

Your card statement will show the FlashGrid merchant descriptor for the top-up amount. A top-up is complete only once WebXPay returns a successful authorisation; a pending or failed authorisation does not credit your wallet.

A pre-authorisation hold may be placed on your wallet balance at the start of a charging session to ensure sufficient funds. The final amount is deducted on session completion and any excess hold is released back to your wallet.

6. Service delivery

FlashGrid sells a service, not a shipped product — nothing is posted or couriered to you.

A successful top-up is credited to your FlashGrid wallet immediately, normally within seconds of WebXPay confirming the authorisation. If a payment is debited from your card but the balance is not credited within 24 hours, contact [email protected] with the payment reference and we will trace or reverse it.

Charging itself is delivered at the moment you use a charge point: energy is metered in real time and settled from your wallet when the session ends.

7. Cancellation and refund policy

Charging sessions: you may stop a session at any time from the app. You are billed only for the energy actually delivered up to that point, so there is nothing to cancel after the fact.

Failed or faulted sessions: if a session fails to start, or a charger faults mid-session, you are billed only for the energy actually delivered. Any excess hold is released back to your wallet automatically, normally within minutes and in any case within 3 to 10 working days once the session record is verified. You do not need to claim it. If it has not appeared by then, contact us with the session ID.

Unused wallet balance: leftover balance stays in your wallet for your next charge and does not expire, so there is no need to withdraw it between charges.

Closing your account: email [email protected] from your account email to close your account and reclaim any remaining balance. We refund the balance within 7 days of the closure request, to the original card used to top up — card-scheme and issuing-bank timelines apply after that. Refunds are always issued to the original payment method; we do not refund to a different card, to cash, or to a third party.

Duplicate or failed payments: a top-up charged more than once, or debited without crediting your wallet, is refunded in full to the original card. Report it within 30 days of the transaction.

Not refundable: energy already delivered to your vehicle, and the partner-network roaming premium on a completed session that was disclosed to you before you started.

Every refund request should include your account email, the transaction date, and the amount, so we can match it to the WebXPay payment reference. We may ask for the session ID or payment reference to verify a claim, and we verify all failed transactions before issuing a refund.

8. Billing disputes and chargebacks

If you believe a session or top-up was billed incorrectly, raise it with us first at [email protected]. We investigate using the session record — time, energy delivered, and charge point — and respond within 14 days.

Contacting us is normally faster than a card chargeback. Where a chargeback is raised, we will supply the session and payment records to WebXPay and your issuing bank as evidence.

9. Using chargers

Start and stop charging sessions from the FlashGrid app. You are responsible for following all on-site safety signage and local electrical safety guidelines while at a charge point, and for making sure your vehicle and cable are in a safe, roadworthy condition.

Do not tamper with, damage, or attempt to bypass a charge point or its metering; do not obstruct a charging bay when not charging; and do not resell FlashGrid energy or share your account for commercial resale.

Charge point availability is not guaranteed. Chargers may be offline for maintenance, grid conditions, or faults outside our control.

10. Liability

Flash Grid (Pvt) Ltd’s liability is limited to the value of the charging session in dispute. We are not liable for vehicle damage arising from misuse of charge points or failure to follow on-site safety instructions, nor for indirect or consequential loss such as lost time or lost earnings.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under the laws of Sri Lanka, including your rights as a consumer.

11. Privacy and data

How we collect, use, share, and retain your data — including the payment data shared with WebXPay to process top-ups and refunds, how we handle location, how long we keep session records, and how we secure them — is set out in our privacy policy at https://flashgrid.lk/privacy. Data-rights requests go to [email protected].

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service or Sri Lanka regulation changes. The version published here, with the dates at the top of this page, is the version that applies. Material changes will be notified in the app before they take effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka and the courts of Sri Lanka have exclusive jurisdiction. Flash Grid (Pvt) Ltd operates within the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) framework for EV charging.
